Andy Nusser's award-winning menu at CASA MONO strikes a balance between the familiar and the ingenious. Based on the cuisine of Andy's native Spain, most specifically on the tapas bars in Barcelona's La Boqueria market, the cooking at CASA MONO is rooted in authentic preparations and is distinguished by contemporary, inventive combinations. For example, the crispy—and unfortunately ephemeral—BacalaoCroquetas paired with Orange Allioli inspired Vogue's Jeffery Steingarten to "mull over the eternal questions of gastronomy. Why do I find this place so appealing, I wondered, why does the food taste so good?"
BAR JAMÓN serves Iberico ham, from which the restaurant takes its name, carved on antique Berkel slicers. We also serve bocadillos, conservas, an extensive cheese selection and addictive churros y chocolate.
CASA MONO and BAR JAMÓN's wine list, intelligently composed by Nancy Selzer and her team, offers a comprehensive exhibition of Spain's ever-growing world of wine. Boasting nearly 600 choices, it was awarded Wine Enthusiast's Award of Unique Distinction in 2007 and Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for 2005 through 2007. It was recently awarded Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence for 2008, as well as being rated 9.5 out of 10 in Sibaritas, the Spanish wine magazine. Our accommodating staff is eager to help you navigate your choices and suggest ideal pairings.
